The Asian Student Union (ASU) is an umbrella organization. This means that while being its own entity, ASU is also used to refer to all of the organizations under its umbrella. These include: AO, CASU, KASA, PAL, TASC, BUJA, VSA. All of these organizations host their own events of various sizes and are conjoined in a mission to promote Asian American representation in the Binghamton community.

The Asian Student Union is driven by its active general body which is referred to as its ASU Family. Alongside that general body, the Asian Student Union contains an executive board full of community leaders to further help organize and push the ASU Family to greater success and representation.
